GAA
Pupils at Scoil Íde from Junior Infants to Sixth class have been taking part in a number of Gaelic football sessions throughout the year with Shane Traynor from Round Towers GAA club. The pupils have learned many valuable skills from these sessions. They have enjoyed learning new GAA skills as well as keeping active whilst having fun.
This year, 4th, 5th, and 6th class girls have taken part in GAA after school training. The girls have developed many new skills and have built their confidence as a team. The girls took part in the Cumann na mBunscol competition, playing competitive games against local schools in Clondalkin. The girls were very successful in their first year together as a team. A memorable day for the team was winning the inaugural memorial match in memory of Dr. Harrison Omorodion, a father of two pupils in our school. On this day, the girls were presented with new jerseys kindly sponsored by Boland’s of Clondalkin. The girls are looking forward to getting back to training in September.
