Scoil Íde are celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge 2025 from the 10th to the 14th of March.
Seachtain na Gaeilge is the biggest Irish language festival in the world, reaching over 1 million people around the world. The festival supports and promotes Irish language and culture through activities held around the country.
The children will be taking part in lots of activities such as art competitions, baking, talent shows, singing and Irish dancing. Each day the children will be learning some new phrases and words so please ask your child to teach you some of this language and to tell you about all the things that they are doing during the week.
We will hold our big Ceilí mór sa halla on Friday where the children can wear in their Green clothes! There will be lots of raffle prizes also for children who are trying to use more Gaeilge during the week.
Each day there will be new phrases displayed in the yard so have a go at using them! We will have Irish music in the yard each morning and our school is decorated with lots of Irish words and pictures for children to learn. We hope that everyone enjoys the activities and has some spraoi agus craic along the way!
