World Book Day 2025 will be celebrated on Thursday 6th March.

This year's theme is "Read Your Way".  Research shows that children feel reading is something they have to do, rather than something they choose to do.  "Read Your Way" encourages everyone to let go of reading pressures and expectations, and empowers children and young people to have fun discovering reading on their own terms.

In Scoil Íde we are having a "World Book Week".  We are spending some time every day exploring books, listening to stories and enjoying all things book themed!

- All pupils (and staff!) are invited to dress up as their favourite book character on Thursday.  Everyone is also encouraged to bring in their favourite book to show their classmates and chat about their favourite books and characters.

- Each pupil will receive either a €1.50 book token or a World Book Day book.  The tokens can be exchanged in many book shops (including Eason) for a free book.  For more information on the books available check out the World Book Day webpage.
