3rd class were very fortunate to have won a prize from the Department's Education for Sustainable Development branch and we spent it on a memorable experience visiting Martry Mill in Co Meath. The class had a fun filled day learning how a traditional water mill works, getting to see the water wheel in action powered only by the river's current and how it connects to mill stone inside to grind the wheat into flour. They also learned how to bake their own delicious bread using flour from the mill. A fantastic experience was had by all! Many thanks to James from Martry Mill and to the ESD also.
