Saint Ita's Feast Day, 15th January
15th Jan 2025
Today we celebrated our school’s patron saint, Naomh Íde, with a Prayer Service in our school hall. We sang our songs together and listened to the story of Saint Ita’s life read by some 5th class pupils, followed by some prayers with some 6th class pupils. We talked about how Ita was so kind, how she taught the young and also that she cared for the sick and elderly. Ita died on the 15th January and this is why we remember her on this day. We especially remember her in our school because it is named after her. Scoil Íde means Ita’s school.
