Term 2 artwork
In January and February we have been exploring lots of different elements of art. Firstly, we worked with chalk to create New Year's celebration fireworks. We then moved onto paint and explored colour, pattern and shape. We explored the life and work of Kandinsky creating a whole class display of squares with concentric circles. We also learnt all about pop art and focused on the work of Romero Britto. For Chinese New Year, we did some directed drawing and included patterns using different lines and patterns to draw our bunny rabbits. We also used collage to create Chinese lanterns. For St. Brigid's Day we worked on the strand of fabric and fibre creating collages of St. Brigid's cloak using colourful felt. Finally, just before we finished up for mid-term we learnt how to make pop-cards for Valentine's Day.
